There's something rather wonderful about The Courtyard Bar & Café at Upper Farm. Slow mornings with freshly ground Brazilian coffee, beautifully prepared matcha and speciality teas give way to sun-drenched afternoons, chilled drinks and the relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere of our courtyard and heated pool.
Feeling a little indulgent? Discover our artisan cheeseboards and charcuterie, carefully selected from independent producers, alongside warm Brazilian pão de queijo, homemade fries and delicious little bites. Perhaps a refreshing glass of sangria, an ice-cold beer or something alcohol-free. And when something sweet calls, there's rich Italian affogato, warm apricot and almond tart or a little ice cream in the sunshine.

The spirit lounge
Some rooms have stories. This one has spirit.
Long before the first whisky was poured, Upper Farm was the winter home of Robert Fossett's Circus. Elephants sheltered here between seasons, drinking from the Tiffield stream, while circus performers enjoyed a drink of their own at the village pub. Almost two centuries later, that wonderfully eccentric history lives on in The Spirit Lounge — a place for extraordinary stories, beautiful spirits, great music and evenings that have a habit of lasting longer than planned.
We're especially proud of our relationship with Wharf Distillery in Towcester, one of England's smallest whisky distilleries. Just down the road, this remarkable independent producer creates its spirits in small batches using traditional copper pot stills. From distinctive Northamptonshire craft gins and beautifully flavoured vodkas to artisan rums, apple brandy and English single malt whisky, their passion for genuine craftsmanship reflects everything we love about supporting local producers.
Alongside our local favourites, discover a carefully curated collection of fine Scotch and Irish whiskies, premium rums, bourbons, cognacs and exceptional spirits from around the world. Perhaps a beautifully made Aperol Spritz to begin, something adventurous from the gin collection, or a remarkable single malt to savour beside the fire.

For us, wine is the romance of life. It belongs with beautiful dining, long tables, wonderful company and those evenings that somehow carry on much longer than anyone planned. At Upper Farm, our wine collection is deeply personal — every bottle has been chosen by Julian & Bruna, discovered on our travels, enjoyed with friends or simply loved enough to want to share with you.
And sometimes the most extraordinary discoveries are right next door. Our neighbours at Stonyfield produce beautiful, award-winning English sparkling wines here in Northamptonshire. Their elegant Blanc and Rosé are among our favourite discoveries — wonderfully local, full of character and proof that exceptional English wine can come from the countryside just beyond our gates.
Beyond the Notswolds, our collection travels the world's great wine regions. From crisp Sauvignon Blanc and elegant white Burgundy to beautiful Provence Rosé, expressive Argentinian Malbec and bold Californian reds. For something particularly special, discover our Albert Bichot Santenay Premier Cru Burgundy, exceptional Bordeaux and distinguished Pomerol.
